How Monika Earned ₹9.1 Lakh Making Travel Reels for MakeMyTrip
Monika (@officialmonika__) has 4.65 lakh followers on Instagram. She makes travel and lifestyle content — the kind her audience actually watches, saves and sends to people they know. She is not a mega-influencer. She does not have a content team or a studio.
In the last six months, that content earned her ₹9,11,892.
Not from a single viral moment. From five Instagram Reels made for MakeMyTrip's Creator Circle — a program that pays creators based on how their audience genuinely engages with their content, not on how many followers they have.
The Five Reels. The results.
Across five briefs, Monika generated 5.52 crore total views. Three out of five Reels hit the ₹2,00,000 maximum earning cap. Her total earnings: ₹9,11,892.
What drove the numbers was not reach alone. Her audience shares her content — and in the Creator Circle earnings formula, shares carry the highest weight because they signal that someone found the video real enough to pass on to a friend. Monika generated the highest share count of any creator on the platform across her five Reels.
She did not get lucky once. She enrolled in five different briefs across six months and delivered consistent results on every single one.
In her own words
“The program rewards creators who actually connect with their audience — not just creators who post. Every Reel I made felt like a real recommendation, and the earnings reflected that.”
What is MakeMyTrip Creator Circle?
Creator Circle is a performance-based program where Indian travel creators on Instagram earn money based on how their content performs. You enroll in a brief — a paid campaign opportunity from MakeMyTrip tied to a specific product like hotels, flights, bus bookings or train travel — create a Reel in your own voice, post it on Instagram, and earn based on views, shares, likes and comments over 10 days.
Creators with 10,000 and more followers can take part. The maximum earning is ₹2,00,000 per content piece. The program average is ₹1,14,206 per approved Reel.
